News: Battalion 1944 update is ruddy massive

Bulkhead has launched a massive 6.7GB update for World War II shooter Battalion 1944, adding a wealth of fixes based on user feedback over the past few months.

One of the biggest additions Battalion 1944 has seen includes improved character models, plus a revamped user interface and HUD. If that wasn't enough, character movements have also been overhauled, and matchmaking has been greatly improved to boot.

Other highlights include Wartide 2.0, a new competitive gamemode, plus fresh weapons (MP28 and Grease Gun), map redesigns, and a brand new battlefield in the shape of Savoia, Italy. Players can also tuck into a new cosmetic progression system known as BattleRank.

Performance has been enhanced too, so that the game will clock in at 120fps+ on most hardware.

'Our hardcore players have been loving the weekly beta tweaks and changes and we’ve been receiving lots of good reports we’re finally ready to share this new gamemode and push it to the live servers. We can’t wait to hear the feedback from the wider gaming audience,' reads the Steam post.

Check out the trailer below running you through some of the major changes now available in Battalion 1944. It all sounds great, but seriously Bulkhead, 'Major Update 2'? That's almost as bad of a title as 2 Fast 2 Furious.
