Michael Reagan: Trump's Taunts Edging Him Towards 'Perjury Trap'

Michael Reagan says President Donald Trump would be walking into a perjury trap if he sits down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller.

And the veteran political commentator and son of Ronald Reagan believes Trump has brought on some of his own problems in the ongoing federal investigation in taunting Mueller on a daily basis.

"I don't think the president's going to sit down with Mueller, I don’t think his attorneys are going to let him do that because it is a perjury trap for the president of the United States," Reagan said Thursday to Miranda Khan and John Cardillo on Newsmax TV’s "America Talks Live."

"Part of the problem is, he eggs Mueller on a regular basis. He talks about [the investigation], yells about it, screams about it, get rid of it.

If I'm in that position, I'm going to try and find something wrong with Donald Trump. I don't care what it is — pitting on the sidewalk — I want to get him and prove that you paid me the money you did to bring Donald Trump to justice. And I think Donald Trump has been responsible for a lot of this himself."

Reagan, a Newsmax contributor, is author of the book "Lessons My Father Taught Me: The Strength, Integrity, and Faith of Ronald Reagan," written with Jim Denney and published by Humanix Books.
