Comcast Makes $65 Billion Bid for Fox

Disney has offered roughly $ 52.4 billion.

Comcast Corp. is bidding $ 65 billion for 21st Century Fox.

The all-cash offer comes after last month when Comcast announced it was considering outbidding Disney for Fox. July 10 is reportedly the date set for Fox shareholders to determine the Disney deal, which is an all-stock transaction valued at roughly $ 52.4 billion.

Comcast and Disney are battling for a wide range of hugely popular movie and TV show properties with the 21st Century Fox acquisition. The film franchises include X-Men, Deadpool, Avatar, Alien and Planet of the Apes.

On the small screen, the package will reportedly include The Simpsons and Family Guy.

So overall, the bidding war will have far-reaching consequences for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and more. And remember, Comcast is the parent company of Universal Studios and NBC Universal.
